Practise empathic craftsmanship
Craftsmanship starts with understanding colleagues, clients and their context. Communicating clearly is more than writing clear code.
About us
dotNET lab builds, improves and manages custom software, with development, security, cloud and identity under one roof.
The name dates from 2020, the craftsmanship goes back much further: our team has been building software for more than 25 years and has been training IT talent just as long. For us, good solutions start with listening and understanding what really matters.

Our story
dotNET lab brings together companies that have been building software and training IT talent since 2000. Five steps, each verifiable in the Belgian company register (KBO).
2000
Where our practice begins; subcontracting through and through; trading as Bitconsult since 2013.
2011
Our training and talent arm: educating IT professionals has been in our DNA ever since.
That craftsmanship is demonstrable too. A selection of the certifications in the team:
1x Microsoft MVP, Developer Technologies A recognition Microsoft grants to only a small group of experts; few developers in Belgium carry the title. And what they carry

How we work
A good architecture only helps when the team can work with it. A consultant only makes a difference when they fit the context. A security measure only works when it is understood and supported.
That is why we want to be the partner who brings calm to complex questions: someone who thinks along, explains and takes responsibility.
Our values
Craftsmanship starts with understanding colleagues, clients and their context. Communicating clearly is more than writing clear code.
Our field changes constantly, so everyone here keeps learning: through dotNET academy, through colleagues and in the work itself.
Taking responsibility for what you build, and also for why and for whom you build it.
Saying honestly what you know, what you can do and what you still need to figure out. Even when that is not the easiest answer.
Platforms and partners
dotNET lab is the umbrella software company. Within that whole we run our own platforms, and for specific domains we work with established partners. You get one point of contact, with the right specialist behind every building block.
IT4ITservices is a dotNET lab platform for freelance matching and registration. It supports our IT team reinforcement pillar by giving freelance expertise, availability and preferences better structure. Towards clients, dotNET lab remains the point of contact for context, quality and follow-up.
ProAuth is the self-hosted identity provider we distribute exclusively in the Benelux. We supply the licence, integrate ProAuth into custom software or existing environments and are the first point of contact for support.
For European cloud hosting we work with UpCloud. Your software runs on a European cloud environment, with clear control over where your data is located and who has access to it.
Services
Our services are built around four pillars. They may look separate, but in practice they often go together, connected by the same idea: building digital control. That is where we feel at home.
We build applications, integrations and platforms that fit the way an organisation really works.

Craftsmanship
We take technical quality seriously. Architecture, security, code quality, maintenance and handover are part of good work.
We take technical quality seriously. Architecture, security, code quality, maintenance and handover are part of good work.
We look beyond the assignment alone. We want to understand what the question means for the organisation, the team and the users.
We would rather communicate simply than impressively. Technical complexity should become understandable.
We make no big promises without context. We say what we see, what we know and what still needs investigating.
Not everything calls for a big project. Sometimes a small, focused step is the best start.
In practice
A good solution is not just cleverly designed.
It has to be usable. Manageable. Explainable. Adaptable when the organisation changes.
That is why we do not build just for the delivery. We build for everything that comes after.
